The Monday 4:30 injury report from the NBA noted that the team had ruled him out for Tuesday’s game against Chicago. Mitchell sprained his ankle in the third quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Kings, but he did return to action. The All-Star guard finished with 19 points, six rebounds and six assists. The Monsters had other ideas. Hunter McKown scored two goals in a row to make it interesting at 5-3. With four minutes left the team still needed more and Owen Sillinger would respond with a marker to cut it to 5-4. Less than a minute later McKown would strike again. His third goal of the period would make it 5-5 and that score held all the way to overtime.
