Biography

Freelance journalist for Flickering Myth, weaver of words, conjurer of literary magic and not bad in a pub quiz. My passion is film, my aim to provide the most thought provoking copy, incisive observations and punchy prose ever committed to a post. Over a number of years I have worked with numerous PR companies including ITB-Worldwide and DDA, whilst nuturing direct studio contacts. In recent months I have spearheaded Quibi review content, covered Alex Rider and Upload through Amazon and also interviewed various creatives on TNT's Snowpiercer. I always have one or two things on the boil and remain consistently proficient with deadlines. Like to use fifty words when ten will do but capable of trimming excessive verbal fat when necessary. Entertaining in conversation and a firm believer that the most interesting questions might not be the most popular. Influences include Bill Hicks, Monty Python and any writer that keeps writing. First contact details are: mcarr2@btinternet.com - feel free to get in touch.

  • Ving Rhames Gives the Show a Renewed Edge

By Martin Carr Verified| CBR Verified “Love Songs from Mars” will be the episode that wins Dope Thief an Emmy Award. In Episode 6, a contract killer from a drug cartel lies dead in Theresa’s garage, Ray is drifting in and out of consciousness, and audiences could cut the air with a knife. BAFTA-nominated director Jonathan van Tulleken cranks up the tension with some inventive visuals, while series creator Peter Craig serves up some trauma-induced flashbacks to further heighten the stakes.
