  • ‎‘Hit Man’ review by Marya E. Gates • Letterboxd

By Marya E Gates| Letterboxd@ Really wish the character of Madison were more defined. I can't tell you who this woman is because this movie doesn't know or seem to care who she really is. The ending wants what Phantom Thread has, but it doesn't work because Madison's character is so ill defined. The thing that is great about Phantom Thread is how slowly Alma's real self is revealed, layers peeled back ever so slowly, until we fully realize that Alma matches (and maybe even trumps) Woodcock's freak.
