Biography

I cover crime, Court, politics, and the work of emergency services. Based in Hamilton, I report on stories of national and international interest such as the death of Kīngi Tūheitia Pōtatau Te Wherowhero VII, the manhunt for Tom Phillips, coastal inter-gang conflicts, and history-making court and coronial cases. I first cut my news teeth as a regional reporter for the Rotorua Daily Post and Bay of Plenty Times writing about health, crime, and local democracy. During my time in the regions, I reported from the frontlines of the Covid-19 pandemic, Cyclone Gabrielle and covered the local effects of the war in Ukraine, troop withdrawals from Afghanistan and protests in Iran.
