The fire was reported at 6:15 a.m. — the second of the morning for many local firefighters after a blaze devastated a La Plata home — was heavy, with smoke pouring from the structure.

Melissa Hively, a planner with the Department of Planning and Growth Management, presented to the planning commissioners on April 7, requesting approval for a preliminary subdivision plan.
