Matthew is a 2004 graduate of Kent State University's Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. He has covered multiple beats (city/village government, county court cases, and human interest) for newspapers in Columbiana County, Ohio, most notably The Salem News and the Morning Journal (Lisbon). He was an editor at DualShockers.com starting in September 2022, beginning in News and later adding Features to his repertoire. He was also responsible for training all new hires in the News and Features initiatives and later became a video producer.
