The Association for Advancing Automation (A3) is the largest global trade group focused on automation technologies, representing over 1,280 member companies as of 2023. Established in 1974 as the Robot Institute of America, A3 was formed in 2021 through the merger of several associations, including the Robotic Industries Association and the Motion Control and Motors Association, while expanding its focus to include artificial intelligence.
