  • Community remembers Alex Kemp ’28

    By Max Billick, Sonia Zinkin-Meyers| The Williams Record Verified Alex Kemp ’28 died on Jan. 7, following a skiing accident the previous day. He was 19. In interviews with the Record, family members, friends, teammates, and members of the community remembered Alex as a steadfast friend and a hard worker who excelled in his academic and athletic pursuits. Over the course of his first semester, they said, he took full advantage of the College’s academic and extracurricular opportunities while supporting and bringing joy to the people around him.

  • Cole Ave. shooting leaves one wounded, causes campus lockdown

    By Max Billick| The Williams Record Verified One person was wounded in a shooting at the Cole Avenue Apartments, a housing complex at 330 Cole Avenue, at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22. In response to the incident, the College imposed an 87-minute lockdown of campus before the Williamstown Police Department (WPD) announced in a statement that the shooting was targeted and there was no ongoing threat to the general public. The incident remains under investigation by the WPD and Massachusetts State Police.
