Biography

Maya Richard-Craven is a progressive educator and (occasional) freelance journalist from Pasadena, CA. Her journalism career began during her undergraduate years at The University of Southern California. She wrote for a student run magazine and won a national award for her third article ever. During college she wrote for USA TODAY College and The Daily Beast. Since then, her work has been featured in nearly 40 publications, including Forbes, Fortune, British Vogue, The LA Times, The Boston Globe, The Guardian, and more. She recently resigned from writing for Forbes as a contributor (careers) to teach kindergarten during part of the day and to develop freelance pitches about health/wellness on weekends. She is no longer taking pitches and doesn't plan on continuing to cover workplace issues. Her hope is to write a story every few months that pertains to the intersection of wellness and entrepreneurship.
