Biography

Hi! I'm a freelance writer and editor who's based in my hometown of Seattle, Washington. I've been writing about food, travel, geography, history, architecture, film, classical music, botany, and sundry other topics for 20+ years. My focus these days is on food, food history, and travel. My work has appeared in The Seattle Times, The Stranger and its sister site EverOut, Seattle Met, Eater Seattle, Atlas Obscura, Seattle magazine, Curbed Seattle, Mental Floss, Business Insider, The Infatuation SEA, and many other publications. I also cohost a popular podcast, The Dinnernet with Mark and Meg, in which we interview guests from the local restaurant and culinary industry. I'm a veteran copy editor too.
