However, I was recently forced to rethink (and appreciate) their value after my seven-year-old requested cookies. I agreed and quickly filed the request on the back burner — until I had the brilliant idea of using voice search and having Google Assistant read out the recipe as I whipped up the ingredients.

And there I was, stuck with no idea how to operate my computer solely with the keyboard. A fast-approaching deadline led me to Google keyboard shortcuts that provided me with a perfect solution. Tab, Shift, Enter, and Spacebar soon became my best friends. I was unstoppable as I moved forward, backward, and every which way between open browser tabs.
