Merle Ginsberg is an award winning journalist and writer, and a NY Times bestselling author. She started her long media career in NY at the Village Voice, MTV and Rolling Stone. Then, moving to LA, she wrote for People, US, LA Times and W Magazine and Women's Wear Daily, where she presided over the West Coast bureau for 12 years, also contributing to LA Magazine, Jane and Details. In 2003, she became a bicoastal writer/editor of Harper's Bazaar - and at W and Bazaar, she interviewed hundreds of celebrities including Madonna, Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, Tom Cruise, Julianne Moore and many authors and designers.In 2005, she published a NY Times bestselling book for Simon and Schuster. In 2007 she returned to L.A. to freelance for the NY Times T (on fashion personalities), Marie Claire, Cosmo, Glamour and international Hearst magazines. In 2010, she became Senior Style Writer of The Hollywood Reporter, where she created its intellectual fashion coverage, and where she covered a multitude of topics - serious or whimsical or both - in culture. In 2016, she began to freelance again, and in 2 years (and continuing), she's written (writes) for Vogue Russia, Esquire China, NY Post, Daily Beast, New York Magazine, NextTribe.com, Alexa Magazine/NY Post, Cosmopolitan etc etc. She's also working on several new book projects. She's appeared often as an entertainment/fashion expert on The Today Show, GMA, the BBC, E!, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, CNN and CNN International. As a television personality, she was a judge of Rupaul's Drag Race seasons one and two, and she starred in the Bravo tv show "Launch My Line." She currently contributes to the digital show "Meet the Entertainment Press" and to Fox Television's (KTLA) "Good Day L.A." She's also coordinated many events and talks in the fashion, beauty, entertainment and political space.
