Supervise the manuscript from the point it reaches the editing phase all the way through printing. Oversee assigned digital products from inception through post-publication maintenance, including: consulting with digital production and editorial and managing the creation and conversion of content for enhanced eBooks, with a focus on video and audio. Attend launch meetings, tracks upcoming publications and works closely with editorial to identify upcoming digital products. I work closely with the Digital Products Assistant to manage social media accounts and develop best practices. I have in-depth knowledge of content, production tools/systems and their interdependencies, including expertise in XML & the suite of Neptune tools, as well as familiarity with eBook, online & CD platforms. Coordinate with editorial, indexing and manufacturing departments to manage the production of 50 legal treatise publication releases per year from manuscript to final print, eBook and online release stages by meeting all milestone dates and satisfying 90% of these dates in advance of the production schedule. Ensure the formatting and data integrity of all SGML, XML, VISF and FFF files and resolved any problems with tagging and validation. Edit and proofread author manuscript and review final proof before it is shipped via print, CD and eBook to customers. Maintain journal webpages and databases. Process invoices for vendors. Process initial conversion of print titles to eBook format and conduct quality check of eBook titles in Adobe Digital Editions & Kindle platforms. I negotiate author contracts consisting of deadlines, chapter updating, and manuscript content.
