Biography

Michael Ndonye is an Opinion columnist for The Standard Newspaper Kenya since January 2020; a political economist of media and communication writing on political and topical issues. He is a lecturer and founding Head of Department of Mass Communication at Kabarak University, Kenya. He holds a PhD in Communication and Media from Laikipia University; Masters of Journalism and Mass Communication and Bachelor of Arts (honors) in Literature, Philosophy and Economics from Egerton University. He is the managing Editor at Editon Consortium Publishing; editor with Athens Journal of Mass Media and Communications, which is under Athens Institute for Education and Research and editor and reviewer for the Ghana Journal of Linguistics; a double-blind peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Linguistics Association of Ghana. He is the 2017 Governance Institute laureate for the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (Codesria) headquartered in Dakar. Senegal. He is widely published in the area of media and communication.
