The Woolner brothers came to America from Hungary and purchased the Grove Distillery in the mid-1870s, from Richard Gregg. The brothers, Adolph, Samuel and Ignatius were soon joined by their other brothers, Jacob and Morris. They incorporated the company by 1850. The company became part of the Whiskey Trust and Adolph Woolner was vice-president of the Trust until his death in 1891.

This producer takes nine and fifteen year old Bourbons and finishes them in Tawny, white and ruby port barrels. It makes for a fruity whiskey that would taste very good in a Manhattan Cocktail. They sent me a bottle for review the other day and Matt and I sat down and tasted it. Here are our tasting notes.
