Biography

A freelance journalist and video-maker, Michele Bertelli has reported from Latin America, South Sudan, Italy and the UK, focusing on economic development, environment, and human rights. His work has been featured, among others, on online media outlets and televisions such as Al Jazeera.com, El País, Politico.eu, Der Spiegel, Deutsche Welle and Vice, as well as in Italian media such as Rai News, Repubblica TV, L'Espresso, Internazionale and Pagina 99. A London City University alumni, since 2014 he has been working on innovative and interactive journalistic products, producing the webdoc Bolivia's everyday water war and the interactive video projects Mothers and children first and Coding like a girl. In 2017 he was awarded by the United Nations Correspondents Association for his coverage of the Italian humanitarian corridors for refugees. He is currently living in Rome, where he produces videos for the online channels of the Italian Chamber of Deputies.
