Biography

Michelle Rosa Raybeck's career began in 1993 as a general reporter with South Bergenite, a 36,000 weekly newspaper serving southern Bergen County, NJ. She served as Editor in Chief of that publication from 1997-2000, before parent company North Jersey Community Newspapers selected her to spearhead its Special Sections Department. During her tenure there, she won awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and the New Jersey Press Association. She also did several cover articles for Aquarian Weekly/East Coast Rocker, interviewing Slash and Rob Zombie, to name a few. She served as News Editor for Leader Newspapers of Lyndhurst, NJ before pivoting to become a high school English and journalism teacher from 2006-2014. During that time, she did a great deal of ghostwriting as well. With her family, she owned and operated Pink Dog Estate Sales in Oakland, NJ from 2015-2024. Currently semi-retired and freelancing as an English/Language Arts tutor, she is happy to get back to work in journalism, serving as editor of the Oakland municipal newsletter.
