Biography

Mike says that before you start counting, he’s been doing this for a while. He’s written news columns, sports columns, features columns, op-ed columns — everything but home-and-gardening columns — for The Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News, Los Angeles Times and Baltimore Sun. His first job was covering the Virginia Squires and Dr. J in the late, great American Basketball Association. Since then, he has covered much else of what there is to cover, including one Tour de France, two NBA all-star games, three vice-presidential debates, four presidential inaugurations, five Olympic Games, six national conventions and countless brain-numbing speeches in the New Hampshire and Iowa snow. He and his one wife have one daughter who teaches law at the University of Texas, not that you should hold it against her.

  • Littwin: It’s not just Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Now it’s all of us.

By Mike Littwin Verified| The Colorado Sun Verified The federal district court judge who ruled that the Trump administration must “effectuate” the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia — who was mistakenly sent to a notorious El Salvador mega-prison even though he was court-protected from deportation there — is back on the case. And — as Donald Trump could attest — with a vengeance.

  • Littwin: The Democratic race for governor will be a contest of who can better bring the fight to Donald Trump

By Mike Littwin Verified| The Colorado Sun Verified You shouldn’t be surprised if the most important issue for Democrats in the Colorado governor’s race may not be TABOR or the budget predicament or unions or the housing shortage or Medicaid cuts or whatever other critical issue you can think of that doesn’t directly involve Donald Trump. Trump, the undisputed champion of governmental havoc-wreaking, is a colossus, of course. As you may know, I don’t mean that in a good way. Not at all.

  • Littwin: When the Dodgers visited the anti-DEI Trump White House, they dishonored the most famous Dodger of them all

By Mike Littwin Verified| The Colorado Sun Verified I’m not going to write about Trump/Musk/MAGA and politics today. Or the Supreme Court’s overreaching split-the-baby rulings and politics. Or Elon Musk — LMAO — calling trade chief Peter Navarro a “moron” and politics. Or Trump on the mass anti-Trump protests across the globe Saturday — “I think it’s a shame. I think it’s a disgrace. And it’s got to stop,” Trump told Fox News — and politics. Or RFK Jr. and measles and vaccines and two infected Coloradans and politics.
