I am a freelance writer with bylines CT News Junkie, the Hartford Courant, Record-Journal and elsewhere. I write about almost everything: I currently focus on state politics, local government and features. I've also have extensive experience covering higher education, courts and the mortgage industry, Aside from my articles, I'm also president of the Connecticut Council on Freedom of Information and Past President of Connecticut Society for Professional Journalists. I'm also on the boards of directors for the Connecticut Foundation for Open Government. On top of keeping readers informed about their state government, I am also an advocate for the First Amendment, free speech, and open government. I have won awards for my reporting on government and the Freedom of Information Act, and regularly visit journalism classrooms to take about the importance of the First Amendment and other journalism-related issues.
