Biography

I write about unusual travel across New England and beyond, as well as affordable housing and public transit. My work has appeared in The Boston Globe, National Geographic, the Washington Post, VICE, The New Republic and Southwest: The Magazine (to name a few places.) I'm also the author of two Moon guides books on New England hiking and road tripping, and I'm one of several contributors behind the upcoming National Geographic Books release Great Outdoors USA. At the moment, I report and write a recurring road trip column for Boston Magazine and I also publish Mind the Moss, a weekly newsletter about unusual hiking in the backcountry, in cities, and other environments.
