City of Knox Mayor Dennis Estok said the contract is up for renewal in 2025. It was noted that SCEDF had been without an executive director for several months during the 2024 contract. Last month, Mikie Stogsdill was announced as the new executive director for SCEDF and has begun work in her new capacity.

City of Knox Mayor Dennis Estok informed WKVI News there have been some safety concerns at the wastewater treatment facility. He stated the facility is a restricted area and there is not a proper gate to keep pedestrians away from entering.
