Youth Voices: Anonymous ‘confessions’ accounts are rampant on student social media. Some are fighting back.
By Mo Damtew| Oregon Live (The Oregonian) Verified Virtually any time middle and high school students in Oregon and around the country open their social media feeds, they are likely to scroll past a slew of so-called “confession” accounts — anonymously run spaces where they can gossip about classmates. It’s simple. Users are invited to air dirty laundry via forms posted by hidden correspondents, who then broadcast the responses to hundreds or even thousands of followers. Some posts are just snide.
