Molly McCluskey is an independent investigative journalist and foreign correspondent who has reported from Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and extensively throughout Europe. Her work has appeared in The Atlantic, CityLab, The Washington Post, National Geographic, Pacific Standard, Rolling Stone, The Irish Times, and an array of national and international publications on topics ranging from Europe's financial crisis, to global migration, to America's incarcerated children. She was one of the first journalists worldwide to cover the rise of social media use by world leaders in a column for The Washington Diplomat. Molly was the editor of CityLab's limited series, Room to Grow, about the benefits and challenges of raising small kids in urban areas around the world, and has edited for publications ranging from Talking Points Memo to Al Jazeera English to Middle East Eye, and was a news producer for the European Broadcasting Union. She was formerly Editor in Chief of Diplomatic Courier, a global foreign affairs magazine. Molly is a former International Women’s Media Foundation Democratic Republic of the Congo reporting fellow, winner of the McGraw Fellowship for Business Reporting, the inaugural recipient of the Solutions Journalism Network reporting grant, and an International Center for Journalists Reporting the Border fellow. She is also a Salzburg Global Seminar Parks for the Planet fellow, and an Austrian-American Media Fellow. Molly is a frequent lecturer and panelist on journalism, press freedom, and other topics around the world, and served four terms on the Board of Governors of the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
