On this round of This Day In Weather History we went back a decade to April 9th, 2015. Not only was that when our very own Chief Meteorologist Chris Yates came to Central Illinois, but it’s the date of the Rochelle tornado. This tornado was violent tracking for 30.14 miles from Fairdale and near Rochelle, IL with a width of 700 yards.
