Moná has worked as a professional editor and writer for nearly a decade. Their journey as a pop culture writer began at St. John's University in Jamaica, NY as a staff writer for the school's student newspaper, The Torch, focusing on new music, arts and culture, and local news. They interned with VIBE magazine and then, after graduation, went into marketing and copywriting for small businesses. This path transitioned into being a full-time freelance copy editor for influencers and content creators. Almost accidentally, they found a passion for journalism once again and wrote articles for a variety of websites before landing an Associate Editor position at Narcity Media in 2019 followed by a News Editor opportunity for The List in 2021.
