Martinus Johanes Britz, 48, from Port Elizabeth, tried to intervene in an argument between his elderly landlord and the policeman. According to Britz’s wife, Carol Greyvenstein, her husband was standing up for the landlord who confronted the policeman about outstanding payments. The policeman allegedly became aggressive and wanted to assault the landlord.
