Biography
Nancy Jainchill is a writer and an unapologetic feminist, who appreciates the complexity of what “feminism” represents, both in the abstract, and personally. Embracing the more inclusive perspective of intersectional feminism, she is an advocate for gender rights. Motivating her writing, have been her personal struggles to assume the equality that she espouses. Focused on matters of sexual justice, discussing the rights of sex workers, the role of pornography in establishing gender parity and sexual equity, and an exploration of her own experiences and evolution of her thinking. Since her college years, she’s been a part of the action: from her Berkeley days protesting the Vietnam War, to walking across the Edmund Pettus Bridge commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Selma March, to volunteering at an elephant refuge in Thailand—all of which she’s written about. With a doctorate in psychology, with an ongoing clinical practice, she is also a well-known researcher whose studies have been widely published, addressing the problems and treatment of adolescent substance abuse. She also has a Master’s Degree in Women’s Studies, and earned an MFA from the Bennington College Writing Seminars Program.
I don't want to dwell in controversy, I'd rather talk about people who are doing great things.
