  • Word Prompt - MEMORY - Naomi Mauer

By Naomi Klass Mauer| The Jewish Press Verified So many memories. When a person reaches old age, memories are sometimes what keeps them going. I have so many wonderful memories. When we made aliyah the first time in 1971, I was in love with Israel. Everything filled my heart with joy. My children were young then, Michal wasn’t even two yet, and I infused that love into all of them. My memories skip ahead, Michal is bat mitzvah and we already made two bar mitzvot and Cindy’s wedding. It was a beautiful wedding. My parents made it in the Hilton Hotel.

  • 65 & 25: The Jewish Press And Rabbi Sholom Klass

By Naomi Klass Mauer| The Jewish Press Verified I see him now in my mind’s eye. He is sitting at his desk in his office at The Jewish Press, a Gemara open before him, other scholarly tomes on the side, engaged in what he loved best: learning Torah. An appointment to see the publisher of The Jewish Press – which this year celebrates its 65th anniversary as a national publication – probably took many people by surprise. No matter the purpose of the meeting, it started off with a d’var Torah by the publisher.
