Multiple department units attempted to contact the suspect around 4 p.m. and the man took off running on foot in the 600 block of East Moreno Avenue near Prospect Lake. The officer then followed the suspect with his K-9 Riggs to a shed located in a backyard of a residential area.

Colorado Springs police responded to the shooting around 11:30 p.m. in the 5100 block of Derby Drive near South Powers Boulevard and Astrozon Boulevard. Police said a person drove by and shot at least one person. The victim was injured and taken to a local hospital. No one was taken into custody.
