Project On Government Oversight

The Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is a nonpartisan, independent watchdog organization dedicated to investigating and addressing corruption, abuse of power, and inefficiencies in the U.S. federal government. Founded over 40 years ago, POGO operates as a nonprofit with a mission to promote accountability, transparency, and ethical governance. POGO conducts thorough investigations into federal programs and policies, often collaborating with whistleblowers to uncover misconduct. The organization advocates for legislative reforms, such as the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act and the Courthouse Ethics and Transparency Act, to enhance oversight mechanisms. POGO engages the public through campaigns and educational initiatives, mobilizing support for anti-corruption measures. Its outputs include detailed reports, policy recommendations, and public resources aimed at improving government accountability. POGO serves policymakers, the general public, and supporters who contribute to its mission.
