Bahrain GP: Oscar Piastri beats George Russell to pole, Lando Norris only sixth and Max Verstappen seventh

Piastri made the most of Norris' scruffy final lap in Q3 to record his second career F1 pole by less than two tenths from Russell, with Charles Leclerc equally impressive in third for Ferrari.
Bahrain GP: No return of V10 engines in F1 'before 2029' after 'productive' meeting between Formula 1 teams and FIA
By Nigel Chiu| Sky Sports F1 Verified Formula 1 will not return to V10 engines in the imminent future after a "productive" meeting was held between the FIA and teams on Friday. FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem led the meeting, having previously voiced his opinion that F1 should consider a return to V10 engines, which were last used in 2005.

By Nigel Chiu| Sky Sports F1 Verified Oscar Piastri led Lando Norris in a McLaren one-two while Lewis Hamilton was only eighth in his upgraded Ferrari in second practice at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Piastri beat Norris by 0.154s, then there was over three tenths to George Russell in third as McLaren underlined their status as the car to beat this weekend. Ferrari have brought a sizeable upgrade package to Bahrain, including a new floor, but it does not seem to have enabled them to get closer to McLaren.
