Nina Burleigh is a contributing editor at The New Republic, publisher of a substack of weekly essays on American politics called American Political Freakshow, and a best-selling author. Her eight books have covered American history, the Middle East, politics and crime, including the politics of the pandemic (Virus, 2022) and the Covid vaccine, catalogued Trump's Women (The Trump Women: Part of the Deal, 2019), dissected the Amanda Knox case (The Fatal Gift of Beauty 2012), revealing a perfect storm of superstition, misogyny and bad police in a small Italian town. Her journalism covers a wide array of subjects, including international crime, archaeology, marine conservation, Trump and American politics. She has written for numerous publications including Rolling Stone, Businessweek, Business Insider, The New Yorker, Time, New York and The New York Times.
