(N ah - m ee - Ch ai) prefers to be called Nyam (ny-am) Nyamekye Daniel's professional background includes writing, editing, radio hosting and management. In 2016 to 2017, Daniel served as the managing editor of South Florida Media Network, in this role she managed a staff of up to six other student reporters, edited, reported and created digital content. Daniel has an associate’s degree in mass communication and journalism from Miami Dade College and received her bachelor's degree in journalism from Florida International University as a World's Ahead graduate. She is currently a Poynter-Koch Media and Journalism Fellow and a reporter for The Center Square. Daniel is also an on-air personality for Blaze FM. She was a reporter for The Miami Times for two years. She has also freelanced for multiple outlets including the New York Times, Atlanta Blackstar and the Miami Herald. Daniel’s love for storytelling drove her to pursue journalism. In high school, she was the newspaper editor, and she wrote a poetry book, “My Quest for Happiness,” at 16 years old. Her favorite topics to write about are politics and culture. Her area of concentration is also social psychology. The journalist continues to focus on making a positive impact on society with her writing.
