Olayide Oluwafunmilayo Soaga is an award-winning Journalist from Nigeria. She emerged runner-up in the best solutions journalism category at the 2024 Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development Excellence in Journalism Awards for West Africa in 2024. In 2021, she was awarded the Union of Campus Journalists, Unilorin Chapter's Rookie Journalist of the year. Her report on robberies in off-campus hostels won the UCJ Unilorin Story of the Year award in 2023. Her reports have been published in The Guardian UK, The Continent with Mail and Guardian, IJNet, The Guardian Newspaper Nigeria, El Pais, African Arguments, and elsewhere. When Olayide was an undergraduate, she was a member of three editorial boards on campus.
