Installation has begun on a number of bollards and planters – or what the council calls ‘modal filters’ – to block off through-traffic. The plans also include gates to allow buses through but not cars. The aim is to stop through-traffic ‘rat-running’ through residential areas and boost cycling and walking.

In June 2011, the station was taken over by Exe Broadcasting Ltd, a new company owned by local broadcaster Paul Nero. Today Radio Exe is owned and managed locally by Exe Broadcasting Limited. Radio Exe can now be heard across all the best bits of Devon, from north to south.
