By Ormie King| Auburn Citizen Verified Editor's note: There is no new Legends of Auburn this week. In the absence of one, and today being Small Business Saturday, The Citizen is rerunning a classic edition by the column's original author, Ormie King. It first ran Sept. 18, 2016. In the past half-century, Auburn has had many mom-and-pop grocery stores that have serviced the people of Auburn and given many families a source of income to raise their families and provide the necessities of life.
