Biography

Graduate Class I, BA Hons. History (Int.), University of Leeds. Recepient of both John Cox and John Taylor History Undegraduate Prize for Best Overall Performance by a Student parented by School of History. Alongside my research and studies at Leeds, I spent three years editing for the Arts and Culture section of the Leeds Uni student newspaper The Gryphon. Wrote articles on a variety of issues and cross-sections including: UCU industrial action at Leeds (for which I won the society's Views Article of the Year 2022 award), Sport - England's Euros 2021 campaign and surrounding controversy, Music - numerous album reviews incl. Easy Life, Loyle Carner etc. and lastly Arts and Culture - interview with BBC 2 Controller Patrick Holland, Edingburgh Fringe student theatre interviews and Leeds Art Gallery 'Changing Perspectives'. In lockdown I wrote a Medium blog on film and TV. My final year I ran a narrowly unsuccessful election campaign to become EIC, whereby I lost by 1 vote. At the same time in my final year, I volunteered at LIFF (Leeds International Film Festival) and worked freelance with LEEDS 2023 (Year of Culture).
