Biography

I’m a freelance writer living in the Yorkshire Dales with an academic and a cat. I used to mostly work for Empire and now I mostly work for Channel 4. I’m also still a regular contributor to Rue Morgue and my work has been published by Fangoria, The Guardian, The Telegraph, Birth.Movies.Death and widely elsewhere. And there’ve been a few books. I’m known where I’m known at all for writing about film, but I’ve occasionally dipped into video games (for Games™ and Wireframe) and history (for All About History). The majority of my work is for print media but I set up flexiblehead.blog to share links to some of my online articles and preserve some interviews. Sometimes I even update it. There are scans of some of my magazine greatest hits in the portfolio section.
