According to Cato Institute's 2025 Fiscal Policy National Survey released Monday, 55% of respondents do not know that the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is temporary and set to expire this year. The TCJA was passed by a 51 to 49 Senate vote on Dec. 2, 2017, and signed into law by President Donald Trump during his first term on Jan. 1, 2018.
