In addition to nesting material in a bag of rice, the department found multiple chewed bags of rice, flour, peas and cornmeal with live and dead bugs inside.

  • County Health Department closes Long John Silver's in Scott

    By Patricia Sabatini Verified| Pittsburgh Union Progress@ Long John Silver’s on Washington Pike in Scott was shut down by the Allegheny County Health Department because of a sewage system failure. “Severe sewage odor present … raw sewage is coming out of the rear of the building and flowing east …,” the inspection report stated. “Plumbers suggested multiple collapses … The operator is currently waiting on a repair estimate,” according to the report. There was no answer at the restaurant Tuesday afternoon.
