The El Nino that was partially responsible for our warm winter is rapidly going away. With such a major change underway, I wanted to see if that has an impact on the amount of severe weather that we experience. Over the winter we had a powerful El Nino that peaked in December at around +2.0 C. That was on par with the strong El Ninos from 2016, 2010, and 1998.

(WLUK)Fiona, now a category four hurricane, is moving northward from east of the Bahamas. Over the next few days, its lift is expected to accelerate before making land fall in Canada early Saturday morning. From there, Fiona will continue north to the Artic Circle, pushing a cold front into the Great Lakes.
