Biography
I am a Finnish travel writer enjoying slow travels in the city streets and remote peripheries. My travels have taken me from São Paulo to the Scottish Hebrides and a South African desert - and back. As a freelance travel journalist and non-fiction writer specialised in drinks culture, I tell stories from my travels with great gusto! My articles and tips have appeared in Finnish and British print and online media, such as BBC Travel and Finland's biggest travel magazines. In my native Finland, I have published three books with a third one about travel literature coming up in 2022. Apart from writing, my background is in the hotel industry as I have worked as a chef in 1 Michelin starred hotel restaurant in the magical Isle of Skye, Scotland. My interest in travel is modestly speaking versatile, and there hasn't been too arid a desert or too fluffy a hotel pillow to explore - yet!
I don't do extreme sports. I do easy hikes but not trekking - unless there are cosy pubs or fabulous seaside restaurants along the way.
