Biography

Hello! My name is Peter, and I'm a journalist raised in the Arizona desert and currently living in Brooklyn. I currently work as a podcast producer at The Atlantic, where I help make the weekly show The Experiment. Before that, I worked with Gimlet/Spotify. As a senior development producer, my job was to create new shows for Gimlet. I helped to create and showrun the podcast Motherhood Sessions, which the New York Times called “consistently riveting.” I managed every aspect of day-to-day production, including: team management; booking guests; coordinating travel; producing multiple episodes simultaneously; recording and cutting tracking; creating production calendars; coordinating with marketing and sales; creating promotional assets; working with engineers and musicians; and collaborating with editors to define the overall tone and voice of the show. After production on Motherhood Sessions was completed, I produced a pilot for an ambitious new narrative series about an ill-fated Broadway musical. I’ve also provided production support for The Journal, The Cut on Tuesdays, and Mogul. From 2016 to 2018, I produced the podcast miniseries The Habitat, which has been named one of the best podcasts of 2018 by Vulture, Time, Thrillist, and Esquire, and which has been downloaded more than 5 million times. From 2015 to 2016, I produced my own podcast miniseries called Tell Me I'm Funny, which was named the 18th best podcast of 2016 by The Atlantic. I'm a graduate of the Transom Story Workshop, a prestigious radio storytelling intensive run by some of the best in the radio business. Before becoming a podcast producer, I spent a year as a semi-professional stand-up comedian, performing in venues across the country.
