Because if she had taken a shower when we’d gone upstairs to bed, thereby pausing the programme we had planned to watch, I wouldn’t have had 15 minutes to kill. And if hadn’t had 15 minutes to kill, I wouldn’t have had the idea of making a playlist celebrating all the indiepop tunes I used to loved so much back in 1986/87.

The first was Blue Monday by New Order, released on March 7th. Then six months later, Aztec Camera put out Oblivious for the second time. Yes, there was an earlier version of Oblivious that came out on Rough Trade in January. But the one I really loved was the WEA reissue that autumn.
