A 2020 Hyundai Elantra driven by a 40-year-old man, also from Puyallup, was stopped on a gravel road south of South Prairie Creek Road East and north of state Route 162, according to a WSP news release Thursday.

Tacoma firefighters were dispatched to the 2300 block of South Cedar Street at 1:01 a.m. for the crash. The car was on its side after hitting the pole, according to Tacoma Fire on X.
