Together with my husband, Barak, I was directing a film for the PBS documentary series Frontline. The film, called The Lost Children of Rockdale County, told the story of an outbreak of syphilis among a group of very young teenagers — 13 and up. The kids were mostly white, many of them from affluent homes.
