I live for beautiful clothing and beautiful books; outside of people those are what I love most. I am a fashion historian and writer; my research is focused on the stories of the people behind the names, houses, and brands which have changed what people wear. I am a Forbes Contributor, where I cover haute couture, costume design, and fashion history as it relates to the world today. My work has been written about in Women’s Wear Daily, the New York Times, 1stDibs, Italian Harper’s Bazaar, The Seattle Times, The National News, and more. I am a formally trained apparel designer, and in my spare time I recreate 19th century womenswear from scratch, from corsets, bustles, and petticoats to ball gowns and costume jewelry.
