Newly-widowed, feeling ‘very unfit’ due to her age and her MS, she had recently moved from Spain to a static caravan near Weston-super-Mare to be nearer to her daughters. By Rachel Horne| Barts-MS@ These days MS is seen as a treatable disease. In the UK, for example, there are more than 15 disease modifying therapies (DMTs) licensed for use – meaning people with MS are living longer, more active lives. Their symptoms are multiple and irreversible; they are reliant on others and are usually significantly impaired. Some call them the ‘Forgotten Many’.
