For Theater Pioneer Robert Wilson, Chairs Are Characters. See Decades' Worth of His Stage Furniture at a Brooklyn Gallery
By Ralph McGinnis Verified| Artnet Verified For the dissident theater director and visual artist Robert Wilson, a chair exists in space, not simply in its relationship to function or its beauty as an object—but also in how it’s experienced throughout memory and time. While visiting his uncle in the New Mexican desert, eight-year-old Wilson took notice of the only chair in the house amid the spare surroundings and proclaimed, “That’s a beautiful chair.” His uncle later sent him the chair as a Christmas present

Put A Egg On It
Put A Egg On It is an irreverent digest-sized art and literary magazine printed on green paper about food, cooking and the communal joys of eating with friends and family. The magazine is biannual and features personal essays, photo essays of dinner parties, special art projects, illustrations, as well practical cooking tips and recipes. Put A Egg On It was founded in 2008 by R&S, a forerunner in the indie food magazine explosion. The magazine is inspired by the DIY photocopied music fanzines of the late 80's and early 90's, and eschews the aspirational nature of conventional food magazines in favor of a more documentarian and culturally inclusive approach. Rather than traditional food writing, contributors to Put A Egg On It include fiction writers, poets, musicians, and artists writing about their own experiences. The recipes collected in each issue are gathered from chefs, artists, grandmothers and friends, each telling the story around the creation of a dish. Put A Egg On It has been featured in Eye Magazine, Food & Wine, New York magazine, Nylon and Paper Magazine and in the books A Delicious Life: New Food Entrepreneurs, The Modern Magazine: Visual Journalism in the Digital Era, and Print is Dead. Long Live Print: The World's Best Independent Magazines. Put A Egg On It is also included in Graphic Design: Now in Production, the largest graphic design exhibition of the past decade, presented by the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and the Walker Art Center and the accompanying book.
