One applauds the efforts by the city administration to present a 2025 budget that will include cuts to the budget and unfortunately to services. However, given the $6.7 million budget deficit it will obviously be necessary. But the spending should stop now, until such time as revenues justify additional expenditures.

The Benboe family has operated it's funeral home since 1937. They've been on Wright Street since 1951. This week, Pensacola's Architectural Review Board considered a permit to have most of that structure demolished. But that demolition request is on hold. Co-owner Zoya Philips says it's time to retire.
